Fun in the Sun!

A few weeks ago we braved the heat and went camping at Anderson Ranch. We found our own beach camping spot across the water, where the boys and Lettie could run around and explore. We also did a little bit of fishing. We didn't have any luck, but it was still fun to be together as a family. Here's Chantz lounging at the campsite:

Tripp braved the cold water and tested out his life jacket. He is becoming quite the little fish!
 The boys on the boat:
 Helping Daddy fish:
Tripp made his very own firepit. He was upset we wouldn't let him light a fire in it in the 95 degree heat. :)
A shot from our campsite. Beautiful!
 Lettie and Daddy:
We put Tripp in swimming lessons this year for the first time. He was in the Lightning McQueen class. He was hesitant to put his head in the water, but is much more confident now. He even jumped off the diving board!
His class on "Pirate Day." This was the diving board day-the kids were all transported to the deep end in "pirate ships."
For the Fourth of July, I tried to pick some kid friendly fireworks. My boys are both pretty scared of loud noises. Like they can't even flush public toilets without screaming and covering their ears. So as you can see, we did a lot of sparklers and smoke bombs. We threw in a few tanks too, but when we moved on to the fountains Chantz was inside quickly!

The weekend of the Fourth we decided to visit Bryant's dad in McCall and spend time as a family. After the heat and work it took to tent camp at Anderson Ranch, we decided to do the kind of camping we prefer. We got a hotel room. Having a comfortable bed and air conditioning makes all the difference! Here are my two sweeties at Bryant's dad's property:
Tripp had his first tubing experience--that ended with him and Bryant completely wrecking and gasping for air. Poor kid-he had fun until the end, and I'm sure it will be a while until we can convince him to get on another tube. Bret, Bryant's dad, was kind enough to take us out in his boat and sightsee up at the lake. It was beautiful!
When the days aren't too hot, the boys and I have been going to the park. Last week we went to Fuller Park and brought our lunches and fed the ducks. It was so fun!

So far Summer is going great! We are keeping busy, but not too busy, and enjoying time together as a family.
