Bryant and I try to be good parents. We believe it's important to teach our kids life's lessons whenever possible. That's why, when Tripp logged into our account on the wii and bought a game last week, we decided to teach him a little bit about debt. Trippster bought MarioParty 2. Then, when he tried to play it, he discovered we don't own the right controller and that we would need to buy it. Then he begged us to buy Zelda as well, which also requires that same controller. After helping him count out his $10 in change from his piggy bank to pay for Zelda, Bryant and I took Tripp to the table and helped him write out a list. We explained that he could have the new controller, but he would have to pay for it--by doing chores. We explained that if he didn't "pay," we would take the controller back to the store...kind of like when a car gets reposessed. :) Tripp helped choose the chores, and then we had him "sign" the bottom. It was so cute-he signed with a "T." So he has completed three of his five chores and is happy to have his remote. Only two more to go til he actually owns it! Tripp is growing so fast-he even starts preschool next week! He is such a joy to have around!
As far as Chantz is concerned, the little chunker is almost eight months old! He is quite the wiggle worm-he can crawl backwards, but hasn't mastered going forwards yet. Sometimes I have him sleep in our room during the day so I can be in the office (where his bed currently is), and I let him sleep in his carseat. Well, this can happen no longer. As you can see from the picture, Chantz is quite the escape artist. This is what I found when I went to peek in on him the other morning:
Here is one more pic of our adorable little 19 lb boy. He is happy 99.9% of the time, and is such a joy in our lives. We love him so much!!
I just had to add a picture of the beautiful flowers Bryant brought home for me on Valentine's Day. He even found some purple ones-my favorite! LOVE him!!!

My goodness... when you look at the train depot pictures of Tripp, he and Chantz look like twins! Crazy. Fun post!
That is a great idea!! It's important to teach kids the importance of working for things.. and that they don't just magically appear!! :) You are such a good mama, and those boys are CUUUUTE!!!
What adorable babies! I loved reading your blog!
