Chantz Bryant Jones

HE'S HERE!!!
I have been putting off posting because I haven't added the baby pics to my computer yet, but I decided I owed my friends and family a post anyway, pictures or not! Our sweet Chantz was born June 28th at 8:01 am. Everything went perfectly. I can't stress enough how happy I am to be able to say that. I was very nervous and was praying very hard that things would turn out for the best this time around. Into the OR I went for my C-section, was given my spinal, Bryant came in to hold my hand, and the surgery began! To begin with the doctor cut out my old ugly scar, and then it took about half an hour to get baby out. I didn't feel anything but a bit of pressure. Then all of a sudden, I could breathe more easily than I had in months, and someone was showing me a little chubby baby face! I was so happy to be able to be awake and pain and panic free to meet him! Well, my "little" guy turned out to be 9lb 6oz, 22" long! It's no wonder the stretch marks on my stomach grew and I couldn't breathe at all during the last month! The kid is huge! He is just adorable! The recovery in the hospital went well and I was actually up walking the day of the surgery. The pain hasn't actually been that bad, and two weeks later I am feeling awesome. I can't lift more than baby, but I am still able to drive and am feeling more independent every day. Trippster loves his new baby brother and he helps me give baths, get binkies, and throw away dirty diapers. :) He is having a bit of trouble adjusting to not being the center of attention, but I am hoping he stops being a stinker soon and returns to his normal, happy self. At first I was breastfeeding Chantz, and the more I do it the more I hate it. I know it's the best for him, but there are so many reasons it just isn't for me. I have decided to only breastfeed or pump twice a day, and formula feed the rest of the time. Currently Chantz weighs 8lb 13oz, and the doctor says he needs to be up to his birthweight by next week...so I am feeding him as much as he will possibly eat! He sometimes eats 5 ounces at a time, which seems like an awful lot for a 2 week old. He must be storing it in his chubby cheeks. :) Well, I will give more of an update with pictures later, but for now the baby is crying and needs to be fed yet again!

Hey Abrie! (how embarrassing - if you read the first version of this comment...what a horrible person I am spelling your name wrong, sorry! I hope I got it right this time...) I thought of this post recently and wanted to thank you for writing the part about breastfeeding. I just had baby #2, 2 weeks ago and am already thinking breastfeeding is not for me. I was unable to breastfeed with my first so I pumped exclusively for him for 5 months! That just seems impossible this time around, with 2 kids demanding my attention and breastfeeding isn't working either. Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say thank you. You made me feel better about my decision to supplement. In the end, I think you do what works best for you and keeps you sane! :) Hope all is well with you and your family.
